Professional Vacationer

Responsibilities:

• Vacation in luxury locations such as private tropical islands, castles in the mountains, and private estates
• Report on your vacation by postcard at three-month intervals
• Travel slowly by private yacht, sedan chair, or elephant. However, occasionally you may have to suffer flying by private airplane
• Delegate any unpalatable social events or over energetic activities to one of your immediate staff.

Qualifications:

• Tolerate the finest food and wine known to humanity
• Passionate about helping the rich by relieving them of the burden of excessive financial responsibility
• Have a deep commitment to minimal effort
• Be able to write a post card.

Compensation:

Compensation will be inversely proportional to the amount of effort you expend. However, all travel expenses, payment of servants, taxes and miscellaneous fees will be borne by the client.

About the IINDM

The International Institute of Not Doing Much is committed to inaction. While the Institute has always encouraged driven individuals to slow down, there are some people who are beyond our help. This new service is for them.

The vacation by proxy service allows our extremely rich clients to keep working all hours of the day and night, yet have the status of the leisure class. Normally we would not take any unnecessary action, but the Institute now finds itself in need of income. The recent storm damage to the turret has caused a leak in the roof. The heating bill was exorbitant. Twenty bedrooms have been closed down. This has caused our resident members to “double up.” While at first this necessity caused consternation among some of our lady members, it now seems to have formed new alliances, so to speak.
